There will be a session focussing on philosophical inquiry at Oxford
from 1349 to 1384, to test the assertion that philosophy declined in
rigor and inventiveness after the Black Death. Of particular interest
is the Moderni - anti-Moderni debate about Future Contingents, since
quite alot of philosophical energy was expended on that topic during the
late fourteenth century. Please consider this a call for papers, and notify
others who might be interested about this. My server no longer links to
