I've been lurking awhile, Ian, so I suppose I should emerge from hiding.
I am currently finishing my dissertation at Indiana University on the
representation of children in Middle English lit., and although the diss.
doesn't directly engage specifically religious questions, I am also working
on the Abraham and Isaac and Massacre of the Innocents plays from the
English drama cycles. Although I also have an M.Div., I haven't yet done a
great deal of work in medieval exegetical sources, so ... I would be highly
interested in receiving any suggestions concerning exegisis of the
Abraham/Isaac, Holy Innocents, or any other texts involving children--as
physical, spiritual, or cultural entities. I am interested not only in
religious exegisis, but also in historical and cultural issues, such as
oblation, foundlings, baptismal and other such practices--just about
anything, really (I'm presently defining my post-diss. research aims).
Thanks for the chance to put a bit of history with the email address. I
look forward to participating in this list.

>It is wonderful to see so many new members joining the list. I don't doubt

>This in itself has often proved an initial stimulus to enquiry and debate.
