Solent University is seeking an external panel member for the University’s External Standing panel in the Cadet Education subject area. We are looking for someone who has expertise/experience in:

Fd Marine Engineering
HND Marine Engineering
Fd Marine Electrical Technical Officer
Fd Nautical Science
HNC Maritime Education
HND Nautical Science

Successful applicants will be entered into the standing panel for a period of four years. Standing panel members can be selected for course approval teams and/or revalidation of both University portfolio courses and partnership agreements. These events will take place throughout the academic year 2018/19. A fee will be paid and reasonable expenses covered for each panel that you participate in. We are looking for someone to take part in a particular panels on 01/05/2019 & 02/05/2019 so please ensure you are available on these dates before applying. 

Over the next two years the university is going through Curriculum review of all the courses run here. It is likely that you will be asked to review groups of courses rather than individual ones. Curriculum review panels will be physical meetings unless otherwise stated.  

To be considered for the University’s External Standing panel applicants must:  

Have experience of teaching in, or knowledge of Higher Education  

Demonstrable experience of curriculum and assessment design, subject benchmark statements, the FHEQ and the UK Quality Code.  

Have subject specific knowledge/expertise in one or more of the subject areas listed above.  

Have not worked at or had any previous association with Solent University in the last five years.
