Hello,
The Art Academy of Cincinnati <https://www.artacademy.edu/> was founded in
1869 in Cincinnati, Ohio. Throughout the 20th century it fostered growth of
thousands of artists including painters Jim Dine, Tom Westleman, and and
sculptor Petah Coyne. With 9 of the world's fortune 500 companies
headquartered in Cincinnati including Proctor and Gamble, many of AAC
designers have also contributed directly to the brands and products that
shape our lives. It is a school that glorifies risk, with a mission to "To
create and sustain radical, forward-thinking, contemporary visual artists
and designers whose creative contributions make a substantial difference in
all the lives they touch." It is additionally an intimate learning
environment, with less than 300 students, with an individual studio space
provided to every 3rd and 4th year student.
Today the Art Academy is undergoing an important transformation. AAC is
undergoing a search for a new president while deepening its focus in
domains of social impact and entrepreneurship. The current interim
president, Mark Grote, is the former head of R&D for Proctor and Gamble,
and he has brought many new board members and resources to AAC. This is a
compelling opportunity to lead a historic institution into a new direction,
with wide creative possibility.
I am personally a board member and an alumnus of AAC (BFA 04) and happy to
answer any questions. I encourage wide sharing of the application. Please
apply via the link below.
