This is a great opportunity to join an established team of statisticians, informaticians and other quantitative scientists developing novel methodology and applications in the field of mental health, working primarily with Professor Andrew Pickles and Professor Richard Emsley. Our research at the Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology and Neuroscience spans both trials and cohort studies.
In addition to applied analysis and reporting, this post is intended to bring selected promising methodology into wider use through the provision of user tools, programmes and packages. This will require a good understanding of statistical methodology, and an interest and skills in programming. There will be a primary focus on R and Stata.
The users would be expected to be researchers in the first instance, but further development of methods into online decision support tools for clinicians and patients are possible. Your contribution to both applied analysis and software development would be recognised through authorship on publications. Opportunity is provided for further professional development, including applying for further personal funding. In addition, the post holder may make a modest contribution to the teaching programme and service support of the Biostatistics and Health Informatics Department and the Maudsley Biomedical Research Centre.
This full time post will be offered on a fixed-term contract for 2 years. The selection process will include a panel interview and a presentation.
