The Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency enhances and improves the health of millions of people every day through the effective regulation of medicines and medical devices, underpinned by science and research. The National Institute for Biological Standards and Control (NIBSC), world leaders in assuring the quality of biological medicines through product testing, developing reference materials and carrying out applied research, is a centre of the Agency.
Purpose of role:
The Biostatistics group at NIBSC collaborates closely with the various scientific divisions (Vaccines, Biotherapeutics, Advanced Therapies, Analytical Sciences) and the post-holder is expected to provide professional statistical expertise that will contribute to all of our activities, applying appropriate statistical analysis methods and clearly communicating results and conclusions to collaborating scientists through discussion, reports and presentations. A broad range of statistical techniques will be used, including common statistical methods for which candidates are expected to have a good working knowledge, together with more specialised methods applicable to biological assays.
