Just a minor footnote:
The design process we researched and developed through some 200+ projects involves 7 stages:
1. Scoping
2. Baseline mesurent
3. Prototyping
4. Testing
5. Refining and retesting
6. Implementation
7. Monitoring
Along the way we looked at the “traditional” approach and found it wanting on both theoretical and empirical grounds. It also happens to be far too expensive and likely to result in failure.
BTW, we strictly follow our own approach and, when clients insist that we deviate from it, we issue one of our ‘all-care-and-no-responsibiliy’ letters.
Also, as readers of this list will know, we have always been champions of research through design.
There are many published case histories etc.
