Dear zooarchs,
I’m working on a Middle Horizon site in the Arequipa region of Peru. There is a camelid vertebra with very symmetrical perforations on the dorsal and lateral aspects of the bone.
I have check under both a hand lens and microscope and the openings don’t seem worked.
Can anyone suggest what these perforations might be? Are they just non-metric traits?
Cheers,
Aleksa Alaica
