Hi Isaac,
I would suggest spending quite a bit of time with descriptive stats. Developing students’ competency and fluency with the basics really pays off when you get to how stats work and how one might make a choice between one type of stat or another. I would also suggest prioritizing non-parametric stats as many design research techniques feature smaller sample sizes and non-parametric data. I can’t recommend a particular text book – although I have found textbooks on stats for nursing research very practical and approachable.

hi
does anyone know of any reliable resources to teach statistics to designers
or architects? core statistics seem daunting to introduce. there is also
its applicability how statistics can be useful in design research?
for research methodologies, social sciences are taken as benchmarks. can,
therefore, books on statistics for social sciences be considered sufficient
or is there some directed design specific readings or references available?
mostly a build off from the ongoing research methods discussion, is there
any work done on what kind of statistical frames can be applied during
design research?
thanks and regards
