Consider reading these as light reading, perhaps amusing.
The point I was trying to make is serious and important: we need to design
technology so that it supports human creativity and abilities. Today,
technology is often designed either to replace people or to force people to
do the things people are notoriously bad at (and then when they turn out to
be bad at it, they are blamed and punished).
But the choice of publication vehicle severely limited the depth and
quality of the argument.

(By the way, I hate being called "a usability expert." It's like calling
an architect "a plumbing expert": usability and plumbing are essential to
get right, but it is a tiny portion of what we do.)
If anyone thinks these issues are worthy of a more substantive audience, I
welcome suggestions for publication outlets.
I am resisting the Design journals even though there are a number of truly
excellent ones. The problem is that they are not read by the managers and
developers of technology. It is these other people who need to hear the
argument, not the design community.
This is part of my normal complaint that all too often disciplines only
talk to themselves and then wonder why the world does not take note.
Anyway, that is a digression.
