Dear all,
Linköping University is now inviting applicants for an interdisciplinary MSc in Design, which may be of interest to students at your universities. The closing date for applications is 16 January 2017. We aim to admit 30 students.
This two year master programme is interdisciplinary, and takes societal challenges as its starting point for co-creative and collaborative work. The first year challenges are Food Waste and Nomadic Welfare. Moreover, the programme features three design tracks, allowing students to develop and deepen their skills and knowledge within a defined strategic area. Current tracks are Sustainable Futures, Transformative Service and Visual Media.
The purpose of the programme is to educate qualified and confident designers who can enter new, complex and emerging contexts, take on a leading role and co-create solid, sustainable futures.
We are reaching out to students with diverse backgrounds - not necessarily with previous academic design qualifications, but with excellent design abilities and a desire to develop design beyond specific materials and disciplines.

Linköping University, LiU, has a long history of design education and research reaching back to the 70's with craft's teacher's programs and integrating industrial design in engineering programs. Later LiU has been pioneering studio-based learning outside art and design schools in Sweden in the 90's, as well as being a forerunner in service design education. Currently LiU is one of the largest design research universities in Sweden, with research in two faculties and five departments, and apart from courses integrated in other programs, we host programs in Industrial Design Engineering, urban Planning, Graphic Design and Communication, Cognitive Science, Arts & crafts, Cabinet Making and Furniture Design.
Feel free to forward this message to relevant people and organisations.
Best regards
