Dear colleagues,
My name is Juan Pimentel. I'm an historian of science, working now with
my colleague Sandra Sáenz-López on a exhibition on maps at the Spanish
National Library (Biblioteca Nacional de España, BNE).
Though there are not many non-western cartographies at the BNE, we would
like to highlight the few we have. Of course we have some mesoamerican
maps, but also some chinese ones. We need help with the latter.
Thanks to Tinho Da Cruz, you can see the two maps of this query in the
lis-maps file area

1. The first one is a Chinese Map in a box, a foldable map in 8 pieces, which some days ago Dagmar Schäfer identified as a Qing Empire's complete map of all under heaven (Huáng Cháo Yì Tǒng Yǔ Dì Quán Tú)

2. The second one is a pull-down map of Hainan Island.

Any information on these two Chinese maps would be very welcome.
Best wishes, Juan Pimentel
