Grade 7: £30,738 - £37,768 p.a. with a discretionary range to £41,255 fixed term to cover maternity leave
Applications are invited for the full-time fixed-term (maternity cover) post of Schools Liaison Officer for Statistics and Mathemagician Co-ordinator. This post can be offered as a secondment. The post holder will support the Department of Statistics to extend its outreach work to promote the Mathematics and Statistics undergraduate programme, and other mathematics programmes. In addition, the post holder will be responsible for the day-to day management of the Mathemagician project including administration, co-ordinating all of the project’s activities and ensuring that the project is successfully delivered on time and to budget. He/she will oversee the arrangements for schools visits, co-ordinate the project’s publicity activities and implement the project’s evaluation plan.
The post holder will have a good knowledge of statistics and mathematics in addition to excellent time management abilities, proficient IT skills and the ability to communicate well with a wide range of people. Experience of organising and marketing public engagement events and delivering engaging lectures and masterclasses are also essential for the role.
