Aren't you talking about two different things? The way in which the
available amount of money (however much) is distributed across the
population is always, to a substantial extent, within the control of the
government. Printing more money doesn't alter that. Indeed, if one wants
an "egalitarian" situation, it would presumably be regarded as
less-than-satisfactory to distribute just the newly-printed money 'fairly',
whilst leaving all the previously-existing money being distributed 'unfairly'!
