The Victoria and Albert Museum/Royal College of Art MA in History of Design
is delighted to announce three additional scholarships for students joining
the programme in autumn 2016.
The V&A/RCA History of Design programme is internationally recognised as
the leading centre for postgraduate study of the history of design and
material culture. We offer ground-breaking tools and approaches for
studying design and material culture in everyday life, across a global
geography from 1400 to the present.
The two-year, full-time MA programme and MPhil and PhD research degrees are
jointly offered by two world-leading centres for scholarship and
creativity. We excel in artefact-based study, and embrace history that is
public-facing, experimental and committed to scholarly excellence.
Some of our graduates continue on to PhDs and teach and research in
universities worldwide. Others work as curators in museums, galleries and
specialist collections, as writers, journalists and researchers and in
consulting, design management and policy.
