Respectfully to everyone,
the entire thread is starting to become a disappointing read...
I have no doubts that one could equally construct a "for" or "against" narrative around Cameron's post - similarly however, one could equally construct a "for" or "against" narrative around your own post David.
Sentences like "I’m sure we’ll survive without you" for instance disappoint me greatly ---- it is not the type of inclusiveness I know you stand for and not the type of message I wish to hear from design icons and role models such as yourself, David.
Can we all find ways to gently push the thread toward something less personal and more constructive, please?
For instance, since the initial post had the notion of misogyny at its core, we could consider focusing our collective intelligence on what misogyny means for design, design research and the design community.
As a female in the tech industry (where misogyny sadly abounds), I would be very interested in hearing what the list thinks about what design can do about this matter, and get a chance to learn from everyone on this list.
Best Wishes,
daria

It seems to me that your message to this list expressing your views about another subscriber is itself a nasty little post. There is nothing respectful in it, quite the opposite. In your communications you have developed a style that is needlessly angry and divisive, intended to stop any discussion that you don’t agree with. It is the more thoughtful members of this list who decide the topics for discussion and how they conduct themselves. For the most part they behave well and we all benefit from the sharing of different viewpoints. You have already told people to shut up, and now you have shown disrespect to a member of this list who may now leave this community. Your character is now a matter of internet record.
So this list is toxic and should be replaced? With what? Presumably a forum where your voice is dominant? We’ve been here as a large and diverse community of design researchers for some years, and we are still growing in numbers. I’m sure we’ll survive without you.
Regards
David
