medieval-religion: Scholarly discussions of medieval religion and culture
It's worth pointing out, though, that there's more than one St. Pancras (Pancratius) and that the St. Pancras of the church in London, of the civil parish named for that church, and of the railroad terminus named for the civil parish is usually thought to be Pancras of Rome and not his homonym Pancras of Taormina. One could have a look in the list's archives at the discussion of this point in July 2012 (SUBJECT: Re: Feasts and Saints of the Day: July 8), particularly my response at:

and Graham Jones' follow-up to that at:

Best again,
John Dillon

St Pancras Old Church (north of the station) is worth a visit, mainly for the graveyard - not much medieval remains visible and no medieval tombs, but the famous 'Hardy Tree' and memorials to Mary Wollstonecraft and William Godwin etc. Allegedly the Soane mausoleum provided the model for Giles Gilbert Scott's telephone box design.
