Hi Kevin.
I still treasure the rigorous way of arriving at the best evidence: do a didactic EB-Web-search, and refer to hierarchy pyramid, for the best study design with the best outcome.
Expert opinion may be our next option, if study outcomes are not convincing or insufficient. Unpublished researches, dissertations...should also be considered.
God bless.

Subject: Resolution of disagreement
Hi
I'm part of a group of about 10 members developing evidence-based clinical summaries on various topics. Currently we have no systematic means of resolving disagreements that occasionally arise about interpretation of research evidence. I wonder whether anyone might be able to offer advice on the most appropriate method? One option might be to seek the opinion of an independent expert; another might be to conduct a brief Delphi process to reach a consensus. The latter would have the advantage of anonymity. Any suggestions?
Kevin Galbraith
