My name is Ken Friedman (well, it's not, but I'm taking on his role):
*Trim tails. *That is, don't just reply to a message, leaving the hundreds
or thousands of words from previous people in the really long message.
Especially when you simply want to say something short.
Yes, you may include relevant parts -- as I will do in a few seconds.
*Stop including stupid legal statements.* I know your organization says you
must, but look how stupid this one in Maria's email is: I've included her
entire short email (although I deleted the long tail she neglected to
trim). I have put the offending text in* boldface.*
(Maria, I will probably offend you by my statements. Lo siento mucho, but
your email illustrates my two points so well, that I felt compelled to use
it. After all, it was sent to a public list.)

Even my elementary Spanish allows me to translate the bold-faced legal
statement as "This email is private. Please don't include it in private or
public (mailing) lists or share with others."
Yet she herself emailed it to a public list! So Maria, you may be fired
for breaking the prescription in your own email.
This is a frequent occurrence on this list.
Designers of the world, arise: it is time to put a stop to this madness. We
must unite together to fight the stupidity of lawyers -- and of companies
and organizations that blindly accept what lawyers tell them to do.
