Dear all
The problem with making this issue into a for-or-against debate is that we miss the main focus of Design itself. If we can describe Design as the process that leads to a new creation, whether tangible or intangible, the judgement about what has been created is made by the ones that are affected by the creation and not by the creating designers. A successful design could even have come from an intuitive design process residing in the mind of the designer. Many times, such intuitive judgements can hardly be made explicit. The real issue ought to be whether our actions / creations are making things better or worse. And the challenge is how do we anticipate the consequences of our actions before taking them.
Best.
