Hi Mariam and co-organisers of this workshop,
Thank you for the invitation. I work at the Institute for Research and Innovation in Social Services (Iriss) in Scotland and am completing my PhD at The Glasgow School of Art. My background is in graphic design and more recently research, facilitation and project management. I have been exploring the contribution of design research and practice when working with people who access and provide social services in Scotland (which has clear links to social justice). This has involved exploring my own practise and balancing this with understanding the outcomes* of this work.
I've developed a methodological approach as part of my PhD and also work with many talented and knowledgable researchers at work who engaging in mainly social science based approaches which involve evidence the outcomes to people as we report to the Scottish Government.
I would like to contribute and take part in your workshop but the distance is likely to be a barrier. Would it be possible to Skype into discussions? If not I'd like to be part of this community so please let me know how this may be possible once decisions have been made about how this community will continue to communicate.
Best wishes,
Gayle
