Dear All
I would like to draw your attention to an exciting job opportunity in our department at Bristol Royal Infirmary:
We are looking for an experienced HCPC Registered Clinical Scientist to assist in the provision of the paediatric and metabolic clinical biochemistry service run by the department. The department has a well-established metabolic service and repertoire that includes the South West regional service for the diagnosis of lysosomal storage disorders. The department also provides a sweat test service for adult and paediatric patients.
You will assist the lead Principal Metabolic Clinical Scientist in providing specialist advice, clinical liaison activities and interpretation of results. Previous experience in a diagnostic metabolic laboratory is desirable, however full training will be provided. This post provides an exciting opportunity for a Clinical Scientist with an interest in paediatric and metabolic biochemistry to gain hands-on experience and contribute to delivery and development of the service.
The Metabolic Laboratory is based at Bristol Royal Infirmary, in the centre of Bristol adjacent to Bristol Royal Hospital for Children (BRHC). You will become an active member of the South West metabolic paediatric multi-disciplinary team based at BRHC attending MDT meetings, ward rounds, clinics and clinical governance meetings.
As well as the specialist work you will participate in the departmental Duty Biochemist rota, providing advice and interpretation of results for general laboratory and endocrine work. The department provides excellent training, with full support for completion of FRCPath.
