*18 PhD Scholarships at the Public Transport Research Group, Monash
University Australia*
Eighteen full-time, funded and exciting opportunities exist for graduate
researchers to undertake PhD research into public transport as part of an
interdisciplinary team working with industry partners. Six faculties from
Monash will be working together with industry partners to investigate a
diverse range of research topics on Sustainable and Effective Public
Transport (SEPT) as part of the Monash University Public Transport Research
Group, one of the leading research groups in the field. Industry partners
for this program include Public Transport Victoria, Metro Trains, Yarra
Trams, VicRoads, TransDev Melbourne and BusVic. The initiative is one of
the new Monash Graduate Research Interdisciplinary Programs (GRIPs) that
provide collaborative research, industry training, mentoring and internship
opportunities to PhD students.
The SEPT-GRIP is an exciting opportunity to make real change addressing the
challenges facing the future of public transport. It is the largest joint
PhD initiative ever undertaken. SEPT-GRIP includes an advanced,
collaborative professional development program based in the field with
industry. Expressions of interest are sought from outstanding candidates
for PhD study in a wide range of fields including engineering, industrial
design, IT, mathematics, criminology, health and tourism.
