Subject: UK National Screening Committee - Bowel Cancer
Dear Fellow
The UK National Screening Committee has commenced a consultation on whether to change the test used within the Bowel Cancer Screening Programme.
The proposal is to adopt a faecal immunochemical test (FIT) for haemoglobin, as a replacement for the currently used blood test (gFOBT). The National Screening Committee does not consider that the proposal will affect any other aspect of the screening programme.
The College has been asked for input into this proposal and I would be interested in your views to inform the College response. For further information please see http://legacy.screening.nhs.uk/bowelcancer
For inclusion, please send your submission to me at [log in to unmask] by 16 October 2015.
With best wishes for the rest of the summer.
