I hope everyone is having a good break and sorry to disturb you if are picking this up during the holidays.
I am conference director for an annual one day conference call 'e-Vocational' that is now in its 8th year, see www.e-vocational.co.uk
I was looking for one, maybe two, FE people who would be willing to talk at the conference on the problems presented by having to deal with many (and varied) awarding bodies and their differing systems and operations, the impact on time, cost, operational matters, logistics etc.
The conference this year will be in Leeds on Thursday November 19th at the Hilton City Centre. The audience of usually around 60 to 80 mostly comprises awarding organisations (small, medium and large), professional bodies, sector skills councils, colleges, publishers interested in all issues to do with the use of technology and systems for assessment and learning in vocational, professional and technical qualifications. Typically we have 30 to 40 awarding bodies at the conference.
We would be looking for one, preferably two, speakers from FE willing to discuss the issues you face everyday trying to manage across lots of different and differing systems, services, ways of operating. A typical presentation at one of our conferences (and you or one of your colleagues may have attended in the past) is of 15 to 20 minutes plus Q&A.
There is not a fee for speaking but we will cover all reasonable expenses, and this is a good opportunity to reach the awarding bodies as a group.
If anyone is interested in potentially speaking drop me an email on [log in to unmask] and I am happy to chat on the phone about the event and flesh out these bones a bit more.
Many thanks
Jeff Ross
