Dear Stéphane,
The journal Visible Language has always given significant attention to book design and book publishing. While this is not the only focus of the journal, it has been a central and recurring theme for 48 years.
The journal's editorial board has nearly always included book designers, and it has often included publishers and specialists in the history of publishing and books.
Established in 1967, Visible Language is the oldest research journal in the design field. Now published by University of Cincinnati DAAP, the editor is Mike Zender. You will find the journal web site at:

Yours,
Ken
