medieval-religion: Scholarly discussions of medieval religion and culture
Dear medieval-religion colleagues,
I wonder if anyone could direct me to a source (or two, or three …) where I can determine whether in the later medieval period, there were any strong opinions as to which of the several people named ‘James’ in the Bible would have been the author of the Epistle of James. For example, was it unanimously held that the author was James the Less, or James the Great, or another James? Or perhaps were opinions divided? Or … did anyone care at all? (That is, is there an absence of discussion or debate on this topic?)
Again, I thank you!
Best wishes, George
