medieval-religion: Scholarly discussions of medieval religion and culture
Interestingly, location of (mostly not surviving) alabasters is quite good in Iceland! There are a number of "heads of John the Baptist". I believe the English summary with the article below will be helpful, though not of course for English provenance! And I haven't been able to find any indications of what English port(s) they might have been imported from.
