Dear list members,
The project report for our 6 month funded AHRC project titled: Valuing Design in public and 3rd sector service innovation projects has just been published and available on the project website: http://valuingdesign.org/ValuingDesign_Report_2015.pdf
Project summary
Valuing Design was a 6-month project sponsored by the UK's Arts and Humanities Research Council (AHRC) aimed at understanding how and what stakeholders value in a design-led approach, specifically focused on public and third sector service innovation projects. The project ran from April 2014 till October 2014 and was premised on the assumption that the use of a design-led approach has an important role to play as a change catalyst in innovation projects. The research identifies what ‘generic’ and ‘specific’ design-led approaches have been valued by different stakeholders and describes specific project outcomes and impacts, and concludes with a list of conditions necessary to achieve impact. Our research insights have been derived from six case studies that were co-created with participants of service innovation projects. The projects covered a range of sectors including healthcare, mental health promotion, youth services and social care across England, Scotland and Australia.
We welcome feedback or comments on the research findings.
Best wishes,
Joyce
