A Ph.D fellowship sponsored by the Cluster of Excellence RESOLV,
(http://www.ruhr-uni-bochum.de/solvation/index.html.en)
is available in the group of E. Sanchez-Garcia at the Theory Department of
the Max Planck Institute for Coal Research, Muelheim an der Ruhr, Germany,
from 1st of March, 2015.
The candidate will perform computer simulations of reactive species.
The effect of solvents and molecular environment will be investigated
using quantum mechanics, QM/MM approaches and molecular dynamics simulations.
A representative publication can be found at:
http://pubs.acs.org/toc/jacsat/136/44
(J. Am. Chem. Soc., 2014, 136 (44), pp 15625-15630)
A master degree or equivalent in Chemistry is required as well as knowledge
of Quantum Chemistry, Organic Chemistry and suitable communication skills
(written and oral) in English. Programming abilities are advantageous.
Those interested should send a motivation letter accompanied by their CV
