In response to John's recent posting regarding the question of does ECigs and Patches constiute smoking when correctign marker levels in DS screening. The recent issue of screening matters http://www.screening.nhs.uk/screeningmatters at the web adress suggests that Nicotine Replacement ie patches and Ecig use should be treated as if they are non smokers since the impact on PAPP-A is very similar to those women who stopped smoking and close to 0.95 compared with the 0.8 seen in smokers.
The evidence for this is very limited but has come from Dave Wright at DQASS.
