We are trying to explore the origin and quality of commercial Isinglass (sturgeon gelatin) sold for use in conservation treatment for a project with the Norfolk Record Office
Analyses of commercially brought Isinglass reveals differences in collagen sequence (ZooMS). We are therefore looking to test small samples of sturgeon (skin or bone) from species might plausibly be used to make isinglass, both today and in the past.
