QUT has just opened the annual PhD scholarship round for Domestic and International students. Applicants with 1st class Honours are likely to be favourably considered. The main scholarships available in the round are:
Þ Australian Postgraduate Award (APA)<https://www.qut.edu.au/study/fees-and-scholarships/scholarships-and-prizes/australian-postgraduate-award-apa>: Pays a living allowance to domestic students, and to international students who've been awarded an International Postgraduate Research Scholarship (IPRS).
Þ QUT Postgraduate Research Award (QUTPRA)<https://www.qut.edu.au/study/fees-and-scholarships/scholarships-and-prizes/qut-postgraduate-research-award-qutpra>: Pays a living allowance to domestic students and international students.
Þ International Postgraduate Research Scholarship (IPRS)<https://www.qut.edu.au/study/fees-and-scholarships/scholarships-and-prizes/international-postgraduate-research-scholarship-iprs>: Covers the tuition fees and overseas health care of international students.
Þ Indigenous Postgraduate Research Award (IPRA)<https://www.qut.edu.au/study/fees-and-scholarships/scholarships-and-prizes/indigenous-postgraduate-research-award-ipra>: Pays a living allowance to a student of Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander descent.
Þ QUT Women's Re-Entry Scholarship (WRE)<https://www.qut.edu.au/study/fees-and-scholarships/scholarships-and-prizes/qut-womens-re-entry-scholarship>: Pays a living allowance to a female student who can demonstrate a significant interruption to her academic career.
There will also be a small number of faculty-funded, institute-funded and top-up scholarships available.
Applications for both current and prospective research students close on Tuesday 30 September 2014. Application outcomes will be distributed in the first week of December.
