Hello Teena,
That was part of the point exactly. Journal/conference submission
guidelines are extremely poor (generally speaking.)
My issue was directed at the design research community as
a whole to reflect on the double standard message (thank you Ranulph)
this is sending: on the one hand we (the design research community)
care enough about design to dedicate part of our lives
to conduct research about it; on the other hand, we apparently couldn't care
less about design judging from the low quality design of the
communication mediums we employ.
It's like watching a physics lecture presented by someone who
consistently gives basic arithmetic errors (I can continue coming
up with different analogies.)
Here's a more poignant analogy (also referring to Terry's aforementioned
quote):
It's as if Gordon Ramsay stated that salt and pepper is not
important for cooking.
