Doncaster 1914-18 project: digital media contract

Doncaster Heritage Services are seeking a digital media contractor with a proven track record of delivering successful projects in the heritage sector for our Heritage Lottery Funded, World War One project, Doncaster 1914-18. The contract is for the creation and delivery of a project website and associated digital applications, including all necessary hardware, software, data and front end hosting and training of the project team in the use of the digital applications and resources. We will also be working with several partners across Doncaster, and engaging the community with this project will be vital to its success. Doncaster 1914-18 Digital Content Officer: Grade 6 (£16,658 - £18,930 p.a.)
The Doncaster 1914-18 project is an exciting 5 year project to look at the First World War and its connections to Doncaster and the King's Own Yorkshire Light Infantry.
The project will involve the development of a digital website and applications that will allow information to be gathered and presented not only from Doncaster Council's Archives, Museum and Libraries, but also to crowd- source information from the general public. There are also exhibitions, events, workshops and a community archaeology dig, as well as work with a range of partners.
The post holder will be responsible for working with the appointed digital design and build contractor to ensure the successful delivery of the 'Doncaster 1914-18' Heritage Lottery Fund (HLF) Project website and associated digital media. Working with the project team the Digital Content Officer will be responsible for leading on the creation and implementation of digital policies and procedures for the service as well as online exhibitions and other digital content. They will also be responsible for uploading and managing digital archive and website content and managing user accounts. They will need to work closely with the project digital volunteers to help deliver this key aspect of the project and also to work as part of the Project Team for the delivery of the Doncaster 1914-18 project.
