Nick
We currently have 65 catalogued silhouettes, all but three of them now digitised; none are presently on display, but all can be seen on appointment. We had a significant display here in 2004-2005 http://www.npg.org.uk/whatson/display/2004/silhouettes.php
Good luck with the project; sounds fascinating.

Subject: [MCG] Q about silhouettes
The Regency Town House, www.rth.org.uk, is developing a project about
British portrait silhouette history called, Profiles of the Past,
www.profilesofthepast.org.uk
On the Profiles website, we would like to include a listing of of
those UK organisations that hold silhouettes within their collections.
Whether you have silhouettes in store, on display or both, it would
help us considerably if you could answer the following questions:
1. Do you hold any silhouettes within your collections? Y / N
2. Are they on open access? Y / N
3. If not, can the public see them by appointment? Y / N
Many thanks in advance for taking part in this brief survey.
