We are looking for a dynamic person, enthusiast for the formation courses development, with broad expertise in one or more of the following areas:
Analogue modelling, structural geology, seismic interpretation and tectonics, especially related with extensional and strike slip contexts. Preference will be given to candidates whose expertise complements existing departmental teaching and research areas. Demonstrated excellence and leadership in education and research is a requirement.
His tasks will be carried out between Barcelona (courses development and e-learning formation) and Dodoma (in-situ courses and Lab activities) including:
Prepare and teach Geology lectures, related labs, and on-line teaching materials. Includes working closely with the department faculty and lab personnel related to course objectives and lab activities. Briefing demonstrators; marking student work; providing feedback to students; dealing with student enquiries; monitoring attendance and performance.
Project description:
It is a collaboration project between the University of Dodoma (Tanzania) and the University of Barcelona (Spain) for the development of a 1-2 year Post-grade courses and it is actually in its structuration phase. The MSc Petroleum Geoscience program is designed to provide students with training in the main lines of research currently pursued in the geological characterization and modelling of geological reservoirs as well as the understanding of its tectonic contest. There will be a special focus on the development of analogue modelling activities, remote sensing interpretation and field case studies.
This posting will be used to obtain a pool of qualified candidates for Geology. As teaching needs arise, these applications will be reviewed for possible interviews. A 1-2 page letter of research interests and motivation for applying for this position.
