Dear Andrew,
For information, we run Architect analysers and have a similar issue. We measure urine protein on each sample.
We observed the effect around 30g/l albumin concentration.
Best wishes
Paul

Dear Andrew
We are moving from DxC to AU for various reasons and will be measuring microalbumin. I was at the Beckman user group on 12th June and from my notes regarding chemistry updates, I've written:
New microalbumin for AU, range 3-450 mg/L, prozone check built in and assigned Biorad QC / BC urine protein control values.
It might be worthwhile checking again with Beckman

Subject: Urine albumin methods on AU platform
Dear all,
Apologies to non-Beckman/Olympus AU users.
We have some concerns with potentially missing high urine albumins due to high-dose hook on the Beckman 'Microalbumin' method (OSR6167) on our AU2700s. Beckman are telling us to dip-stick all the urines before analysis to identify high albumin samples. We introduced measuring both urine albumin and urine protein to catch any high protein samples in the expectation that Beckman would improve their assay, they apparently have no plans to do so.
We would be very grateful if any Beckman AU users (there are 32 enrolled in the RIQAS urine scheme) could let us know what they are doing.
We are particularly interested to hear from any users who;
- has devised a cunning plan that Baldrick would be proud of using the Beckman assay
- has modified the Beckman assay
- are using 3rd party reagents (ideally with an antigen excess check)
Please reply directly to me and I will collate responses.
Many thanks and best wishes,
Andrew
