Candidates are invited to apply for the position of Lecturer in PR and Media at Middlesex University.
The successful candidate will have expertise in public relations and social media, with a
strong international dimension to his or her research. The Advertising, PR and Media
programme at Middlesex University has quadrupled in size since its launch in 2007,
demonstrating the unique appeal of a degree that explores the theory and practice of two
closely related media industries.
We are looking for a talented and enthusiastic individual with a proven track record of teaching
and either research or professional practice in Public Relations to contribute to the ongoing
development of the programme, including building relationships with the creative industries
and relevant industry bodies. The post holder will develop a profile for the Department in
public relations and social media within the social, cultural and political contexts of different
public relations practices across the international creative industries. Programme Leadership
will be considered for a suitably qualified candidate.
You should be able to demonstrate an in-depth understanding of the history of these
industries and also have a finger on the pulse of the latest developments. It is
essential that you can demonstrate this knowledge in the form of a promising research
profile in Public Relations, ideally including some previous experience of professional
practice. An interest in, and experience of, curriculum development and design would be an
asset. We are particularly interested in hearing from candidates with experience of working
between academia and industry to develop innovative learning experiences, knowledge
transfer and/or enterprise partnerships.
