medieval-religion: Scholarly discussions of medieval religion and culture
Dear colleagues,
Many years ago I found an image of wax effigies of human body parts that had served as votive offerings in an English church, Exeter Cathedral as I remember it, in the Middle Ages. The image was an illustration in an article in some British Archaeological Journal of which I have since long forgotten the title.
Have any of you colleagues read this article / seen this image and are able to give me a reference?
Or do you know of any other source for these wax effigies or other similar ones?
Kind greetings,
Anders Fröjmark
