medieval-religion: Scholarly discussions of medieval religion and culture
Tom,
William of York is pretty distinctively York Use. And the manuscript in question, Harley MS 2332 <http://www.bl.uk/manuscripts/FullDisplay.aspx?ref=Harley_MS_2332>, is dated by the BL to 1411-1412 and so antedates the addition of John of Beverley to Sarum Use in 1416.
On the larger question, there's no indication on the page that the Bloggers intend to adhere to Harley 2332 in determining a given saint's day (though their extensive use of it here could be predictive in that respect).
Best,
John Dillon

Unfortunately, the announcement fails to specify whose sanctoral calendar the BL Medieval Manuscripts Bloggers have chosen to follow ("timed to coincide with their individual feast days" is a bit vague, no?). Surely the Bloggers don't believe that the position of saints' individual feast days on such calendars either is uniform now or was always so medievally.
