Subject: Time to say goodbye
Hi All
This is my last week at Peter Symonds College before I retire from work on Friday.
As my brain becomes ever more fuddled and the lists of things to do multiply and get longer, I think that it is time for me to draw my state pension, collect my bus pass, and embark on what I hope will be a long retirement. After 50 years of employment – never without a job – and 17 years as an Exams Manager the time is now right to retire at the end of this current term.
I have made many friends in the exams world over the years. It has always been good to meet like-minded people at the AoC conferences and other meetings and to put "exams" right over a drink or two. I will miss the early mornings and late nights of exam days, and dealing with the students, teachers and parents, their successes, failures and problems - but I am sure that I will cope without them.
Thank you all for your friendship and support. Have a good Christmas and New Year.
Best wishes
Alan Waymont
