Fancy sharing your experiences, expressing your opinion or just broadening your knowledge and networking with colleagues (as well as supporting colleagues in the Philippines)? ILIG invites participants and observers, members and non-members to our second lightening Informal, with an essence of data-blitz.
This year, we'll be changing it slightly by letting attendees choose who they would like to hear as well embracing the international community by inviting any colleagues to join us virtually with a pre-recorded video presentation.
What’s it all about?
The ILIG lightening informal will consist of as many 5 minute lightening talks that we can comfortably fit into the evening.
Attendees are invited to sign up as a potential 'speaker’ or just to be an ‘observer’. Speakers will then be contacted to submit a title and 50 word overview of the 5 minute talk that they would like to give on a topic of their own choosing with a link to libraries or information provision in an international context. Subject-matter can be humorous or serious, topical or with a historical perspective..... it's up to you, just keep it within the 5 minutes.
If you cannot attend but would like to submit a pre-recorded video, please email [log in to unmask] for further details.
This year we will let attendees choose what you want to hear about. Participants will be able to vote for the topics they would like to learn more about. The topics which people most want to hear about will then be presented. Videos will be added to the ILIG Youtube channel.
Light refreshments are served which is why we ask you to let ILIG know you are coming by booking online at http://tinyurl.com/iliglightening by 9th December.
Although this event is free we will actively encourage donations to help support libraries which have suffered with the crisis in the Philippines.
