Hi all
Every now and again, I get a message that reaffirms the need for the work I do on Public Libraries News. This time it was an email that, in part, said:
"... as a Head of Service my job is to help the Council navigate its Libraries Service through the public sector financial crisis, and learning from what’s going on elsewhere – whether from strokes of genius, cunning wheezes or spectacular own goals – is a key part of what I need to do. The briefings I continue to write on the options open to us are heavily influenced by the links I follow up from PLN; I know for certain that most of these would otherwise pass me by."
If you're a head of service, involved in decision-making, or simply just want to know what's going on then you'll be pleased to know that subscribing to Public Libraries News is free. You'll get posts most weekdays summarising the key news at home and developments abroad along with editorials, interviews and the occasional fun piece too. Just go on to www.publiclibrariesnews.com and simply put in your email address in the box on the righthand side. Around 600 of your colleagues already have.
Right, advert out of the way (at least you know I'm not making money out of it), now back to those pictures of library cats wearing bow ties ...
Regards
Ian Anstice
