New to me, but a look at Anywhere.me indicates it is based on advertising revenue which the company shares with the authority.
The users also seem to be able to customise the screens for themselves, so I assume they sign up and login once they have a browser to get access to that?
is there any equivalent which is *not* advertising based? No doubt chargeable, and we'd lose a possible income stream, but we'd not be throwing advertising at our users.
Can we use this type of hosted solution to 'whitelist' public PCs to lock them down to our preferred sites?
Etc. etc.
Any ideas?

Subject: [LIS-PUB-LIBS] Customised start pages and searching for public PCs
*Apologies for cross posting*
Hi all,
In Cheshire libraries we're using customised browser homepages and Google search boxes for our public PCs, provided by anywhere.me.
I know that there are a lot of other Councils using anywhere.me, but I have been asked to find out if anyone knows of any other companies that provide a similar service?
Many thanks in advance,
Niall Rowe
