Hi Ranulph
I didn't think I had anything to contribute... but here are some thoughts
for 'Experience and explanation: should we talk/write from within or from
without'
I liked Luce Irigaray's argument on Ist v's 3rd person (but this is not
easy in terms of internet access)
Irigaray,L.(2002). *To Speak is Never Neutral*. London: Continuum
The Introduction pp.1-7
can be found on google books
http://books.google.com.au/books?id=1ok45yaJZ-QC&printsec=frontcover&source=gbs_ge_summary_r&cad=0#v=onepage&q&f=false
Irigaray, L. (1985). Is Science Sexed? *Cultural Critique*, 2(Autumn),
pp.73-88
I don't know if that is on topic for your 'Experience and explanation:
should we talk/write from within or from without' but it is a writing
reference.
I went to a 'Art Media Design: Writing Intersections' Conference in 2009
The link to the proceedings

I found of particular interest Peter Murphy's paper
p.64-77 'Writing what cannot be written about: the politics of things'
Hope that helps
Thanks
v.
