Dear Kari-Hans,
You suggest
"You'd like to get everyone to agree with the way you
understand that word, but many (as you say) use it
differently. Sounds a lot like the earlier discussion
about the word 'design' to me."
No! Definitely not! This is not what I want, nor expect, nor
think should happen.
I just thought to throw my thoughts in to the pot. I just
wanted to stir it a bit. That's all.
So, please don't read normative implications nor desires into
my words.
I don't have the "right way" to do things, nor write things,
nor define things, nor define what define must mean.
I just don't think anybody does. And I don't think
everything's all a mess as a result. What I see going on here
seems all rather usual to me, normal even--to be a bit
normative, just for a moment.
I'll stop stirring it.
Gero arte,
[A little Basque, so that people won't take what I write the
wrong way, 'cos few here will know these words. As David
says, Wittgenstein gave us some good clues on this: if you
want to write what you mean don't uses words others will
understand.]

Agora at its best!
