Hi Emma.
At Leeds we use the proprietary Innovative DB since we converted to
Millennium in 1997, I think before the Oracle solution was offered. I'm
quite glad we never took Oracle if its true that conversion to Sierra
can only be made from the proprietary DB.
Anyway, we hope to move to Sierra in the summer. You may be interested
to hear we've had to buy new hardware for Sierra and that we're moving
away from a Solaris OS to RHEL. Anecdotally, we believe the Millennium /
Sierra application is more suited to RHEL - not sure that's the right
but we just feel more confident in RHEL.
