the recent full moon was very bright over Melbourne, and I heard people say they never sleep well here when it's outside their bedroom window.
I may copy here my son's words in an email - he was in the Northern Territory for the recent eclipse.
'The Arnhem Land festival was a profound experience. Every object in their world is divided by sun and moon totems, so the eclipse had massive significance for them, and they were serious about creating a Balander and yolgnu "coming together as one" event, with us white fellas welcomed into their world. Great to dance with david gulpilil and his people. Heard stories of working with Rolf de Heer, who they love and baz luhrmann who disappointed.'
