Mark,
your points:
1. Not for PhD-Design List;
2. Program core problem Vs, Peripheral concerns; and
3. Major Project is good & enough.
My quick responses:
1. PhD-Design List (as indicated in "From" Field) is for "related research
in design" as well. Well, we've been researching on this design-related
topic for some times now and thus, I asked for advice.
2. Our ID program is pretty much similar to other university's ID curricula
around the world. However, we identified areas where we need to be a bit
different, responding to our socially-specific concerns and the industry;
and
3. We do not hold that "specialism is not required" these days. Quite on the
contrary, it is highly on demand in many areas of expertise. To our eyes,
major projects are very good for ID students to get their hands on things,
but it is not enough at all or at least, to the extent the community wants
our graduates to be.
Thank you so much for your valuable advice & clarifications.
Regards,
Mohammad
